Frequently asked questions

If you have anything else you want to ask, reach out to us.

    • Can Flexyfix be used to put up Showerwall?

Flexyfix can be used to install wall cladding and is often used in wet room installations. It is also regularly used for the installation of splashbacks and worktops.

    • Can I use Flexyfix to fix plasterboard to metal and wooden studding?

Yes. Fit out companies are now using flexyfix for this application due to the very fast strength build up which allows fast and easy installation.

    • Can I use flexyfix to fit stair nosings without screws?

Flexyfix has been developed to provide a fast and easy method of fixing stair nosings. Providing the substrate is clean and sound there is no need to use screws to get a strong and stable result.

    • Can I use Flexyfix to fix chipboard floor onto joists?

Yes. You can Flexyfix the chipboard to the joists and, providing that they are level, you will not need to nail or crew them down. A major plus to using flexyfix is the spped of the installation process and the fact that you have no nails to come lose and cause squeaking floorboards.

    • Can I use flexyfix outside as it will be open to the weather?

Flexyfix is the ideal solution for fixing profiles and other items externally. It is not adversely affected by the weather and can even be used when it’s wet. Care should be taken to ensure that the surface to which you are bonding to is clean and free from contaminants and remember that the minimum working temperature for using the adhesive is 5ºC.

    • Does Flexyfix work with all manufacturer’s nosings?

Flexyfix is suitable for fixing nosings, trims etc. to most substrates and has been endorsed for use with Quantum stair nosings. Flexyfix has also been tested on other leading manufacturer’s products and providing you are fixing to a clean and sound substrate the product works. The product has in fact been used in large construction projects with all the leading manufacturers products without problems.

    • How do I remove a nosing that has been fixed with Flexyfix?

If you need to remove a nosing or trim that has been fixed with Flexyfix you can do this using a screwdriver, jemmy bar or similar and simply lever the nosing from the substrate. The nosing should come off without damaging the substrate and a replacement nosing can be refixed onto the residue of adhesive once any excess has been scraped off.

    • Can I use your adhesive to fix a wood block parquet floor?

Flexyfix is helpful for installing the starter rows as the fast cure time and high grab allows continuity of work without having to wait for the starter row to become firmly fixed so that there is no movement in the position of the blocks when the main body of the floor is laid. It would not be a good idea to use flexyfix to install the whole floor as it would be too expensive and we would advise using Rewmar MS Polymer adhesive for this. Flexyfix can be used to fix the final herringbone rows as this will enable cutting ready for the border to be cut in. Take care to only fix the part of the block that is going to remain in the floor.
